The enthusiastic Natalie Haynes wrote a book, ‘Pandora’s Jar’, in which she re-examines the stories of the women at the heart of Greek myths, including Medusa, Penelope, the Amazons and of course Pandora. It reminds us of the original classics with a refreshing spin of the contemporary. The Greek originals aren’t always quite what you think: Pandora never had a box and ancient culture always depicted her in the moment of her creation.
